If you’ve ever been curious about the tiny house lifestyle—not exactly a thing in New York, unless you count the many itty-bitty apartments throughout the city—you’re in luck. Getaway, the start-up known for its custom-built tiny cabins, has installed three of those micro-units on the Staten Island shoreline for the summer. (h/t DNAInfo)
Getaway currently has campsites in the Catskills in upstate New York, and outside of Boston. The New York City pop-up, called Getaway at Gateway, is a collaboration with the National Parks Service and the New York Harbor Conservancy. From now until Labor Day, the company’s eminently Instagrammable tiny cabins will be situated within the Gateway National Recreation Area in Staten Island.
