Taller than the London Eye, with views of the Big Apple, Staten Island will soon be home to the world’s largest Observation Wheel. It is planned to be 625 feet tall, with 36 capsules, each holding 40 passengers during the 38-minute ride.
Harbor Commons, a retail center with 50-75 shops, will also be built at the Wheel site.
Construction on this new project, which is adjacent to the Ferry Terminal, is set to begin in 2014.
